Weak Coolant Color

I just re-did my loop for the 5th time.
The three times were from adding hardware.
The 4th time, I dumped an entire bottle of coolant in, which wasn't smart, because I didn't do correct mixing.
The 5th, and most recent, I dumped a bottle of Pentosin G11 in a 1 gallon bottle of Deer Park Distilled Water, and then used a funnel and put it in my system.

I see all these pictures of these AWESOME colors running through a loop, and I am jealous.
My loop doesn't glow in the dark, my loop is really ugly too.

Here is a picture of what I want my loop to look like.

I have heard about UV Dye, but your talking $25 dollars a bottle.
Food coloring?
What exactly would that do?

Ehh? $25 a bottle? What have you been smoking? It's $9.99 for the dtek stuff and it's $4.95 for this, they also have green in both brands. Also, you need to give that CPU outlet hose more slack, it's kinking.

Hey man, you need some worm drive clamps on those EK barbs, it's very easy to put that tubing on and off on those barbs, especially when it's wet and under pressure. All it would take is bumping it a little to hard and it would pop off, especially since the tubing has little to no slack. Just FYI, be careful.

LMAO

you all are wrong.

its the Swiftech HydrX coolant additive. Its like $5.25 + shipping like everywhere:rolleyes:

I originally did not like the color of my blue pentosin loop either. I premixed it the "correct" proportions, and it looked like your loop.

So I just added more pentosin directly into my reservoir until I got the color I wanted. It was not alot, so I was not concerned about the water/pentosin ratio.

FWIW, I had the Swiftech HydrX originally in my loop. Which is what the one pix looks like it has for an additive. I simply did not care for the green. Also, I do not think it is UV reactive.

Nothing, you?

And by the way, I lost my Gigabyte P965-DS3 by that EK block. I was draining the loop, and it spilt all over my 8800GTS and my southbridge.
8800GTS survived. :)

I am going for blue as well, not green. Green just seemed like a good example since it really stands out IMO.

Really? Like, a mild mild mild kink? My E6300 at 1867 at 1.325 voltage, folding, is sitting at 43/41 right now. Folding is full load, no?

Use the Dtek stuff.

Your the one who told me to buy the Pentosin. :)
But your word is Jesus, so let me throwout the 15 bottles I ordered of the Pentosin and buy D-Tek. :)

I just use 7/16" in my loop with zip ties. I hate worm clamps.

15 bottles! I just went to my local VW/Audi dealer and picked some up there.:)

I bought 20 worm clamps, and they blow so hard.
I can't get them to work, so I don't use them.

I probably went overboard, but I have 3 watercooled PCs to manage. :)

Thats UV reactive Fluid XP+, thats not just UV reactive dye. Duh

8800GTS survived.

Doesn't mean it will survive next time.

lol, not all Pentosin is UV reactive, read the bottle. It's not Arcy's fault.

Can't get them to work? That's odd, work fine for me. You just screw in the screw and it tightens it.

I wasn't responding to the OP's question directly. He said $25 for UV DYE ADDITIVE, I corrected him with links, it's not near that much for the UV DYE ADDITIVE.

No... He didn't ask us to "Name that fluid...." He was using it as an example. Dtek dyes are the best UV dyes around.

That's full non-conductive additive. Two very different things.

I am going for blue as well, not green. Green just seemed like a good example since it really stands out IMO.

Wee. Blue FTW. Get the Pentosin dye. Its incredible under UV.

It won't make a difference... but it's putting LOTS of pressure on the fitting. Bad if you aint using hose-clamps.

Pentosin is only Antifreeze. It's not a dye :)

They're sooo easy lol. Come online tomorrow for a tutorial :3

Woah BrandonB, woah.
Maybe I am just a fucking retard who should quit life.

I didn't spend night and day studying a clamp.
I bought one, opened it all the way up (which I bet you is wrong, and your suppose to slide it over the tube) and tried to close it, and it didn't grip.

I didn't fucking study a month and a half on UV dye.
It isn't Arcys fault, it's mine. No, it's my mothers for having me.

Come on, it's a fucking discussion on a kid who is trying to learn about coolant, clamps, and colors.

Let me apologize for reading HTML and CSS that said "25.95" and thinking that was the price.

I'm sorry.

Let me apologize for not cutting the correct tube on my CPU block, that clearly has effected you life. Let me apologize for the amount of sleep you lost over it.

I'm sorry.

Let me apologize for my hand slipping and hitting a tube, and frying my motherboard, which is clearly your problem, and frying my motherboard.

I'm sorry.

I guess I am just a bad person who thinks coolant is too much, that really isn't coolant, who doesn't know the difference between anti-freeze, dyes, and coolant, who is bad at putting tubing on because it is kinking, who can't use clamps the correct way, who thinks coolant is too much.

Let me go end my life.

worm clamps are easy as hell to put on....:)

Maybe, maybe not. They were certainly easy when using them on my garden hose. They weren't so easy inside my engine compartment. I suppose in a little container like a computer case it might be a real pisser. :D

:D Just Say No to Barbs & Hose Clamps :D

Neither did I, when I put my clamps on I open them all the way to get them over the tubing and barbs and then bend the metal back in place and hold it there and screw it in until it catches. It's not rocket science.

It isn't Arcys fault, it's mine. No, it's my mothers for having me.

It was a whole 2 weeks before I bought my watercooling setup, if you read the descriptions you will know what the difference is between a coolant that's UV reactive and UV dye.

Come on, it's a fucking discussion on a kid who is trying to learn about coolant, clamps, and colors.

Yes, it is and I'm trying to help you out, but if you don't want to take my advice on some additional things, don't be an asshole about it. Just say thanks and be on your merry way.

Let me apologize for reading HTML and CSS that said "25.95" and thinking that was the price.

You didn't read it wrong, I was correcting you on what the difference was between coolant that's UV reactive and UV dye. One of which IS $25.95.

I'm sorry.

Let me apologize for not cutting the correct tube on my CPU block, that clearly has effected you life. Let me apologize for the amount of sleep you lost over it.

I was CONCERNED that it might pop off, hardforumer to another. I didn't lose any sleep over it. You come here for advice, expect to get some suggestions on your loop.

I'm sorry.

Let me apologize for my hand slipping and hitting a tube, and frying my motherboard, which is clearly your problem, and frying my motherboard.

No, it's not my problem. But like I said, I was concerned something like that might happen and was telling you how you could prevent it with some simple clamps or at least some zip ties.

I'm sorry.

I guess I am just a bad person who thinks coolant is too much, that really isn't coolant, who doesn't know the difference between anti-freeze, dyes, and coolant, who is bad at putting tubing on because it is kinking, who can't use clamps the correct way, who thinks coolant is too much.

Lets get one thing straight, I was trying to HELP you. Thats what you came here for, if you're going to just be an asshole to me and blame other people for you not reading the labels on shit then just leave hardforum or toughen up. This is a tech forum, you come here for advice, you post pics of your loop. EXPECT IT TO BE CRITICIZED.

Let me go end my life.

You do that.

...

If anybody is into the flourescent green color, go hit up your local chemical supplier and inquire about uranine dye. Looks great and never comes out of suspension.
