EA Hires Xbox Executive From Microsoft

It looks like Peter Moore, Microsoft’s vice president of interactive entertainment, is taking a Job at Electronic Arts where he will oversee the sports division.

Moore will switch to EA in September and report to EA CEO John Riccitiello. "He's the exact right guy to do the job," Riccitiello said in a phone interview Tuesday with The Associated Press. Riccitiello, formerly an executive at Wilson Sporting Goods Co. who knew Moore when he was at Reebok International Ltd., said he's wanted to recruit Moore for a decade.

Wonder if he now regrets those tats on his arm now? Maybe he will get a madden or tiger woods one to go with them.


Anyway who knows maybe he will make ea better.
 
What's there to oversee in the EA sports division?

They just re-release te same thing over and over with new rosters.

He can make it worse. EA isn't the best but they don't have a loose canon mouth like Peter Moore.

Talking about running away from your problems. Bach selling stock, Moore jumping ship, right after a 1b charge for warranties.Nobody thinks this is related?

Take a potshot at Sony then having to promote games for them. Nice (don't forget 100M PS2 users that still buy Madden etc.)
 
I bet that's a nice, cushy, easy position.

Peter Moore's roadmap for EA sports games:

2008: Update the rosters. Improve the graphics enough so you can see their eye color. Pay me $800,000 plus stock options.

2009: Update the rosters. Improve the graphics enough so you can see fleas jumping from blade to blade of grass. Pay me a million plus stock options.

2010: Update the rosters. Improve the graphics enough so you can see sweat running down to their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s. Pay me a gazillion plus give me sole ownership of the company.

Etc, etc, etc...

Of course, I guess I should applaud them... they really don't even have to improve the graphics. They can just update the rosters and people will buy it like crazy.
 
Peter Moore is so shifty in person. He has those little beady rat eyes. You unconsciously check to see if your wallet is still in your pocket after you talk to him.
 
Why would EA even want him? He's helped MS lose billions in the console market, and helped create the most unreliable console ever made. How's that a positive for EA?

Yep. After pushing the 360 failure into the ground, he's now gonna bring his magic to EA. Good luck with that.
