A new report says that Google’s numbers were down in July while Microsoft saw a significant gain. Google is still, by far, the search leader and the boost did not change Microsoft’s third place ranking.

Google remains the king of search with 62.7 percent of all searches, but it is down from 67 percent in June. And Microsoft remains a distant third with 13.2 percent, but it is up significantly from 8.4 percent a month earlier. Yahoo continues in second place with a 19.6 percent market share, virtually unchanged from a month earlier.

Heh, and I know exactly why Live has had the sudden surge of users. ;)
