Er, this guy is only part of AMD through ATI - as in, he was acquired through the takeover earlier this year. As in, I don't see how he's responsible for the past 3 years of AMD's business decisions. Unless you're all claiming ATI has made terrible decisions the past 3 years. Which doesn't make sense, because the 2900XT is the only fault they've really made.

Who hired the people who f***ed up? Exactly, the CEO as he is on top of the foodchain.you think the CEO is responsible for all of those decisions?
the CEO is just a scapegoat for when something fks up! =p and someone for PR

nah, the CEO really isn't responsible for much, he doesn't do the highering either, I can tell u by working for a company, basically the only thing the ceo is involved in, is board meetings, and PR events.
there is a depertment that handles each issue, HR for recruiting etc =p seriously CEO is probably the most over paid position EVER, considering what u do and what u get paid,
Man talk about fickle. Constantine did you call for NV blood when the FX series hit? Or Intel's with P4? You talk as if you know the management intimately; do you?
Stop calling for the horsemen of the apocalypse, they (AMD) haven't even had a chance to recover yet.

Thank you Captain Corporation! Now sit down. You sound like you have no understanding of business. As a person with a Masters in Business from Northwood University, I will explain this to you.
Look at how many of you so called AMD FANS jumped to Core 2 once the numbers came out. You didn't stick to your guns and ride out this misfortune that AMD is having.
Everyone is blaming Hector, but tell me this, could any of you do any better ? answer is NO
If i was CEO i would ramp up R&D. I would keep the pace going and constantly improving the chip and not just the memory controller. AMD should of kept the ball rolling with the K8 chip but they didnt all they did was improve the mem controller, which gives about 5% more performance. The CEO has the job of keeping the company on track and sort out problems, not just talk to stock holders and PR.
Who said Orton was responible for AMD's decisions these past three years? It is my contention that Hector Ruiz is THE SOLE PROBLEM with AMD. His record over the past couple of years have shown that clearly.
Moreover Orton was just as bad as Ruiz currently is. ATi has come out with phenominal cards these past three years the only problem has been execution (which is huge). I have absolutely no doubt that if ATi had been on time with all their offerings, it would have solidified their position as the very best period. It was because of piss poor business decisions that landed ATi and now AMD in the debacle that was the R600.
Hector Ruiz has his conference call on the 16th of this month and you can bet your ass that if Hector does not give CLEAR SOLID DATES AND BENCHMARKS of the next two quarters, investors like myself will be jumping ship so quick your head will spin.
Hector Ruiz needs to be tossed just as far and just as deep as Dave Orton.
