Hi,
I am looking for someone to help me OC my Q6600.
I want to get to 3.0Ghz, 2.7 at least!
But I haven't OCed in a long time and have never OCed an Intel CPU let alone a Multicore.

My Rig is in the sig and I know this bad boy can go faster so I hope someone will walk me through the sets I need to do to get this thing to OC.

For a mild overclock, you just need to change 3 things:

1: FSB from 266mhz to whatever your target is. Try 300mhz and see how that goes.
Later, you can try going higher...320, 350...

2: RAM speed needs to be @ least 2X your FSB or higher if your RAM can handle it. (For now stick to 2 X FSB) 600mhz

3: Raise your CPU Voltage or Vcore to 1.35V

4: Watch your temperatures.

Okay
I set the Vcore to 1.356
My FSB is running at 1200 Mhz
1200/4=300
DDR2 is running at 900Mhz
CPU is at 2700MHZ
(300Mhz FSB x 9 = 2700Mhz)

I'm a bit unsure on the following
Should I let the BIOS AUTO adjust the Ram to FSB ratio, or should I set it manually.
Right now it's Linked on Auto and setting the FSB to 1200 set the ram to 900.
I'm not sure what to do next.

If it were linked, it should be running @ 600mhz.

Change it manually to unlinked, 600mhz.

Try setting your FSB to 1400, same Vcore, RAM running 2XFSB (700mhz) for a 3.1ghz overclock.

It might just work!

I went a bit shy of that first.

FSB = 335Mhz (1340Mhz)
Multiplyer = 9
CPU = 3015Mhz (3.01Ghz)

Now I am going to stress the bastard... see if she holds.

I might go for FSB 350Mhz (14000Mhz) x 8 = 2800MHz
Which should be faster then trying for 3.1Ghz
