Right now I'm running 3888MHz at 1.6V with a stock Vapo LS.

Anything higher will crash Orthos within 30mins.
At 4014MHz I can take a screenshot but that's all... :(

Next voltage setting on this DS3 is 1.8V.
Do I dare give that much to the CPU even if it is under phase???

well what are your temps at now? and how much did they increase over the last voltage step?

Evap temp is at -35.4C after two hours of Orthos blend.

No idea what the actual CPU temp is since no program I know of can measure subzero temps with a Conroe.

Well, if the program can't measure the temperature of the chip... It means it's still below 0

Still, at 1.8v I imagine you'd start shredding the electrons right out of the processor.

aka: Do it.

Low temps don't mean you can't ruin your CPU with high voltage. I wouldn't run a CPU at 1.6v 24/7 even with phase change cooling. Remember, there's always electron migration.

electron migration is how it's supposed to be ;) electromigration on the otherhand is a nono

Speedfan measures below 0c..... To run at 1.8/v, you need to get your cpu really cold cos its a big jump in temps from 1.7v to 1.8v...... With dry ice, I actually clocked better at 1.7v than 1.82v cos my temp ( measured at base of pot ) jumped from -69c to around -52c..... I dont think youll kill your cpu at that voltage, I wouldnt have done it otherwise ..... Personally, Id just sell that cpu and get another one cos the clocks you want can be done on air.....

well short term effects are probably more or less negligible. however, electromigration does pose an issue in the long term and i'd be damned if it ran without issue for more than a few months if you held 1.7v.

Intel says the four horsemen of the apocalypse will arrive when beyond 1.55 vcore...do it.:p
