The only modification necessary was the notch out of the Hard drive rack. The PCI-e card seated just like any other double decker card (i.e. like any PCI card only taking two slots). Maybe he means the Lian Li case had to be modified.
 
will an 8800GTX fit in the Ultra Wizard case? i'm curious because there is an amazing deal on tigerdirect.com right now for one.
 
The 8800GTX fits in my Coolermaster Cavalier 3 with no problems. As long as #2 of your 5 hard drive bays is clear, than it's good to go.
 
I read in this post the GTX won´t fit in a CoolerMaster Mystique, but you are talking about 631 model or the new 632 one?

Would it fit in the 632 model? :(
 
I just discovered this thread, and thought I'd contribute. Since I'm looking at 3 cases - the Casetek CK-1022-5, Enermax CS-718(same as the Silverstone TJ-06) and CM Stacker, here are the images of them.

After reading this forum, I decided to get an 8800GTS because the mystique 632 was listed as not being big enough to hold this card. But, after getting everything together and installed, I found out that the clearance for the video card is actually around 11.125" or so of space. So, an 8800GTX would fit unless I'm missing something here. In the image there's actually about 2-3 sixteenths of an inch of clearance past the ruler. I just put my computer together so I don't have Photoshop installed so I couldn't resize the image. It's huge, so 56k beware...

Also... After I get some rebates back I think I'm gonna step-up to the 8800GTX so I'll be able to confirm that it fits. The 6 pin connectors are on the side, unlike the 8800GTS, so as long as there's 11 inches of space it should be fine.
 
Just in case if anyone is wondering, the 8800 GTX fits just fine with plenty of room to spare inside a Lian Li G70 case.

I dont know if this has already been said or not because I damn sure didnt feel like skiming through 12+ pages to find out. :p
 
I've got an 8800 GTS in my Apevia X-Plorer with about 2.5 inches of space, so you could probably squeeze an 8800GTX in, otherwise just have to make a small cut in the hard drive rack.

I just bought this case as part of my "upgrade to SLI in style" project... that case and an enermax galaxy 1kw gamer edition psu! man... there /IS/ a lot of space in there. lol. sa-weet!
 
hi i was wondering will the Armor Jr fit the 8800 is i remove the HDD cage and put it by the Cd and DVD drive just wondering cause it can fit if i move the HDD cage
 
with enough BAWLS in your system and a rubber mallet anything will fit! :eek: :D

Lug around? Do you take your desktop backpacking with you or what? It has wheels so you don't have to pick it up to move it.

Um, LANs? I'm moving from a CM Stacker to a PC7-B for that very reason, and I can also carry it with me on a plane in a duffle bag, instead of it going in a storage compartent (god knows what would happen to the comp.)
 
if you remove the hard drive cage and the bottom cradle, turn it so the hard drives are sitting sideways as you look at it, trim off the edges of the cage, and drill holes through the bottom of your case to match up with the threads on the bottom of your hard drive, you can just screw the drive cage in place and fit all five hard drives, with about an inch to spare. its a bit tight, but it works, I'll still end up buying a twice 7 case for the new 4x4 amd platform motherboard, if EVGA makes one.
 
I'm still wondering if an 8800GTX will fit in my Praetorian PAC-T01-EK.
 
I'm upgrading and thought i would post that the BFG 8800GTX fits my Sonata II thanks to the power plugs being on the side of the card and not the back like my 7800GTX. It will end up going in a CM 830 Evo but I had to try out of curiosity for everyone else that might want to know. It has to be turned sideways a little going in of course.

what cases would you recommend if i do want to buy a Tuniq Tower,P5B-Deluxe and a 8800 GTX,with a Corsair 620 power supply?

The 8800GTX will fit in a Praetorian PAC-T01-EK.

I’m currently using an Evga 8800GTX with a Bad Axe 2/Core 2 E6700 in a Praetorian PAC-T01-EK at work. With the 8800GTX and three hard drives it’s tight but it all fits without any problems.

If I get a chance I’ll put up a pic.

I did a search and never saw a definate answer. Wil the 8800 GTX fit into the CoolerMaster Centurion 5 case? I have this case already and was hoping to pull the trigger onm the rest of the guts. Has anyone installed this card in there yet?

according to some newegg customer reviews of the CoolerMaster Centurion 5, they fit the 8800 gtx without a problem.


8800 gtx's in sli however, would be a problem.
