FINAL RESULT. Congratulations to all the five participating teams in the 2024 5th BigAdv EOL Challenge. TAAT takes the top spot follow by the overclockers.com, ExtremeHW, EVGA and [H]. We contributed a total of 12% (28,777,419,685 points) of the world daily aggregate, a gradual drop from the beginning of the race due to a new crypto folding team. About 350 folders contributed to this race. Hope to see you all again next year.

No, I had multiple GPUs for ETH mining and I switched them all over to F@H for a previous challenge 2 years ago. I have since sold all but two, one is in my daughter’s PC and the other is in my PC. It spends most of its time F@H.

So got back into this for the race and forgot how to monitor things...
Had my main computer/GPU reboot last night so looks like it was not running

What is the best way to monitor things? i have a handful of computers w/ GPU i want to make sure are running but it looks like the GPU only works when logged in not as a service?

linux or windows ? The best way to monitor is by using FAHControl.

There's some whitelisting configuration magic you have to do on the laptop side. Usually makes me chuck the machine a few times before getting it to work....

again, linux or windows ? I will assume windows ? That connecting under windows could be the firewall. You have to open the ports or the application or turn off the firewall, I am not an expert on how to do what you need. ALSO, in fahcontrol, configure/remote access tab, you need to put something like this under "IP address restriction" 127.0.0.1,192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255 where it says allow.

Thanks for jumping back in!

Make sure F@h is set to run at startup. If windows decides to restart due to an update, or some other reason, overnight your F@H restarts automatically.

Not sure about the question regarding services. Is it set to run automatic or manual? Or, is F@H running but GPU work is paused while CPU work is folding?

I am only familiar with a home network without VPN. Someone else here may have to address that.

On windows, as far as a know, the default install will run F@H all the time. Unlike BOINC, there is no accounting for other loads or situations.

That said, I always use folding set at "full", never the medium or light. Not sure what those do.

I did like this (with password set) on both machines and tried to monitor on "main" PC, but it keeps saying "Connecting ..." ....
Both PCs are on same network...... What do I miss? Do I need to open port in router (guess not)?

Main boxen with my 3060 in it became unresponsive at some point overnight. Not sure for exactly how long but it'll prob take a bite out of my PPD. I see some former [H]orde members among the top folders. Heretics! - jk

they're still contributing to the science which is the most important thing. I'll definitely try to get a NV 4xxx series card or two this year, if only for the power efficiency.

Awesome. I made it to the top 89 on the final day. I was hovering around the 100 spot each day. Adding my new GPU did make some difference on the last day.
I have big plans for next year!

edit: Just for some detail, I was running an rtx 4060 and a 14600k for most of the race then I added an rtx 4070 ti on the last day
edit2: I'll be adding another rtx 4060 tomorrow as well. Too bad I couldn't get it while the competition was going on.
