The only upgrade people usually don't know is available is very good cooling for the cpu and gpu. The better the cooling the better the cpu or gpu stays at that highest boost clock and for longer.

I think this would be a good thing but just because a game can take advantage of sixteen threads doesn't mean the cpus with lower threads will perform worse. It likely just means the cpus with more threads will perform better.

Do you live near to a MicroCenter? They price match and you should go in and talk to someone in the build your own pc department, if so. You'll be able to get it new if you can fit it in your budget same day. Otherwise you'll know what you need to do when you are done

10400 is great but only if you plan on not overclocking. 10600k may be worth the extra scratch to just buy it used.

Why would he lie about it? Wouldn't overclocking cache make the CPU run faster? I always assumed, seemingly incorrectly, when you OC the CPU that the cache would automatically be amped up as well. I think this could be legit
