So... I have 6, but will likely only use 5, 2TB Seagate Barracuda greens... I bought them a few months ago before HD prices went up (they've since come back down some but not quite to the price I paid.
Anyway, I'm ready to build a setup for them. I'm thinking I want to run freenas, likely 8.2. I'm going to likely use an old P180 case at first, but would like to move to a smaller more portable case in the future. I was originally looking at going E-350 based, however those options are somewhat disappearing... don't want to spend more than $200 or so on processor/ram/mb... most important to me is low power usage. I'll likely run OS off a usb drive...
Would like as much BW as possible, but mostly will be used to store documents, music, and photos... maybe a few movies.
So... any recommendations on my build?
Thanks in advance.
