Zalman Modular PSU

I have that Zalman psu. I've had it close to a year and it seems to work fine for me. It's pretty quiet, which is a big plus. I wish it was fully modular, as I still end up with un-needed cables that aren't detachable, but this is the case with almost all "modular" PSUs. I will say that I like my Corsair 650w better, though it's not modular. For whatever reason I think the Cosair "feels" like it's better build quality, and it was cheaper at $75 in that newsletter deal from newegg. I think it's a fine PSU, but you may also want to look at the models available from Corsair and Seasonic as well. If you have any specific questions about the psu, feel free to ask.

i was considering the corsair 650 as well i was just wondering because modular just seems easier.

the specs of my new rig are
ASUS Maximus II Formula
2x2gb corsair xms2
8800gt (from previous build) (upgrade to either 4870x2 or gtx2800)???
E8400
2 250 gb wd's

I currently have this PSU in my system. Stable voltages and very similar to the Seasonic and Corsair models. The fan is very quiet and cannot be heard over 35dba fans at half speed. As silver stated it's not fully modular and an extra motherboard 4pin (if you don't have 8) as well as two pci express cables are fixed to the PSU. I recommend you look for the equivalent models and see which one you can get the cheapest.

I also have this PSU. Works very well with my Intel DX48BT2, Q6600 and ATI 4850 setup. I'd a previous Enermax that finally failed and forced me to do a quick replacment. When reviewing what was available "locally", I thought this was a pretty good choice.

I also own this PSU. Had to buy local as my old PS died. I've had it over a year, no issues with the rig in my sig.
