I've had a set of Logitech Z560 speakers for about 3 years and last week they went silent. I'm certain that the control pod has died. Can't find any parts on the Logitech site and I REALLY do NOT want to go trolling on eBay for one since they appear to die fairly consistently.
Can I use like an AV amp/receiver to replace it and if so, any inexpensive recommendations. I'm using the onboard RealTek 883 chip to feed it
TIA for any guidance!

I rummaged around their support pages on Friday but thought if there's a solution that might give me better sound or more options....might be win/win. The set was bought for next to nothing and it's got to be way out of warranty.
I may contact them but still want to explore the availability of other solutions.

My friends Z5500 control pod blew out, and they sent him a whole new speaker set...

He called up Logitech, and told them the speakers made a huge pop, and then the room smelled like smoke. The person on the phone was pretty concerned and actually asked him if anybody was hurt.

It's damn near impossible to get an extra control pod out of them though...so his old speakers are under his bed in a box just sitting their... The sub is completely useless without a control pod..

Funny thing...the sub is still working fine without the pod.
I may call 'em and see if they're wwilling to do anything.

I had my Logitech 680 5.1 speakers sub went and got it fixed for AU$120. After that, I bought a power surge board to protect all my computer stuff to be safe:D
