so i bought i5 6600k and the asus z170 mobo and was throwing different every time bsods instantly, i tried to trouble shoot what it was but had no luck. So i returned the motherboard and RAM and switched them out with new items and i swapped to a different hdd for good measure and issue is still happening. Only thing left is a PSU or cpu. Has this happened to anyone else? is it deff. the processor due to trial and error?
edit: i dont think a psu would do this?
edit edit: it mostly throws a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED code. sometimes its different though

Is the memory running at default speed or at its XMP clocked profile speed?
Have you tried resetting the CMOS?
Have you tried a single memory stick?

ive tried, but not with new stuff. Ill try everything right now

when in XMP profile 1 its at 2400 speed and it instant blue screens at inaccessable boot device, when i return it to default speed which is 2133 it boots into windows and will eventually throw a BSOD like usual

That is unlikely to help at the moment.
Its possible there is a BIOS update for your motherboard that needs applying, but its not wise to flash the bios if your ram is unstable.
(not saying it is, but might as well try)

Some skylake cpus require a small voltage tweak to work well with some memory.
This isnt normally a problem unless using the XMP profile though but with a potentially unstable motherboard bios, it could help.

Change VCCIO (or the one with IO in it) to 1.2V and VSA (System Agent or SA) to 1.25V.
See if that helps, then check for BIOS updates if it does.

just threw a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. will tweak everything now
edit: adjusting the volts did nothign =[

What temp does the CPU show when in the BIOS?

PSU problems can manifest in mad ways, it is certainly suspect.
Can you try another?
Do you have a multimeter?

The CPU is also suspect but before you put yourself through RMA hell and still have problems, eliminate what you can from the equation.

I'm sorry if I missed it earlier, but where are you seeing these BSODs? Is it during an attempted Windows install? Is it during boot on an existing Windows install? Is it after the desktop loads?
