z-680 decoder?

[Unreal_Tker]

What is the big deal with the decoder. I am not the most knolegable when it comes to sound so bear with me. Anyways what does the decoder do anyways? Also what is better the z-680's or the klipsh pro media 5.1's in terms of game sound quality?
