You can chop like 800 dollars from the videocards by just getting 256 mb versions... yea yea I know this is "dream" computers... but the 512 version has slower ram speeds anyway.

BTW, my dream rig is in my sig, and it's halfway built. The rest of the stuff arrives on monday and tuesday (friggin' monarch got my order at 1pm Tuesday and didn't ship out until Friday morning). Ok, so it's not 100% a dream rig... I'd have dual 6800 ultras with 512MB of RAM each and an FX-55 with a vapochill LS.. but that's just a little ridiculous. My rig is damn good, and about 1/2-1/3 the cost.

Last upgrades for this machine is
1. An AMD FX-57
2. Next gen Videocard R520/G70..

Then nothing till the next amd socket..

Er...basically what I've got now. With a Toledo. And maybe an Areca instead of a Highpoint controller, but I'd never pay for one because it is way overpriced for the target application. And maybe a Dell widescreen but I'm still debating if it's big enough that I'd care since I'm already using a 21" Trinitron for my primary monitor. Maybe a larger softer chair, which is most likely to happen in the near future.

Right Now I have an fx-55, dual ultra, a8n-sli, and 2gb ram, dual raptor
I would change this to:
FX-55
Dual xfx 512mb ultra
a8n-sli premium
fully watercooled by aqua computer, including a dual harddrive cooler for the fujitsu
dual 15k 146gb fujitsu scsi drives
12 400gb sata drives
plextor 716a, plextor reader.
4gb 2-3-2-5 ram
my current 21.4" monitor
a lian li v-2000 with a triple 120mm radiator modded into the top
lian-li card reader.

worhstation =
dual 275 opteron dual core
tyan nforce 4 board
dual fx 4400
16gb ram
and then as above.
there is some guy who has this on the nvnews.net forums called venturi, it is so sick, it gets like 130fps at 1600x1200 4aa 8af on doom 3....
