Yonah test at TR

those results are excellent... if I was building a computer today I wouldnt get any else but a lower priced Yonah and good MB and OC it a little... for that performance per watt and price, that is amazing
 
Those results are quite excellent I am a bit surprised by the Turion results however, those system are actually quite comparable to Core Duo in power consumption curious why so many reviews so far have battery life better on the Pentium M, if they consume the same at high load...
 
better chipsets for the Dothan/Yonah is my guess....

Also, remember the Turion is single core 90nm while the Yonah is dual core 65nm
 
Tell you what, I'll need to see more benchmarks, but I've been an AMD fan for years, and that's seriously making me consider going Core Duo with the new puter that's going to be built this summer. Was planning on going Opty165, but the Core Duo shows similar performance at worst, and out performs at best across the board, which includes having a lower operating temperature, which I'm a fan of(like quiet, cool, machines)
 
eh dude, if you are building this summer, hold off for Conroe or AM2 opterons.... thats way too late in the game to be building 939 or Yonah....

oo shit.... i forgot... Merom is a drop in upgrade.... hmmm, that *is* interesting....
 
Ya the drop in between Yonah and Merom is a + that 975 chipset board with link above I really like that. Notice the Cpu brakets. A zalman 9500 cooler will fit that perfectly .

So cpu doesn't need water and water can be used to cool the GPU's and chipsets and HD'S with a smaller Rad . This Intel tech is really looking interesting to say the least.

Well my wife made up my mind for me. She wants to go yonah merom . So as soon as abit releases its 975 CS yonah / merom M/B I am ordering the parts for hers. I am going to go with the 2.33 yonah when its released shortly. The reason I will go with the more $$$ cpu is that merom is binned buy effiency @given ghz. There for to me the notebook power requirements these should be the best of the best and therefore should O/C to higher ghz.Their being binned now so there should be enough binned up to meet demand.

If I was only interested in one build I would go Conroe . But my wife believes and I agree we need to have good performance Comparsions between Merom and Conroe. As we want t build the best gaming PC's possiable. As Conroe's only competion In the gaming PC industry will be Merom onless A dual core Dual Cpu workstation board with Dual FSB with FB dimms proves to be compeitive.with dual 16X slots Woodcrest CPU. No matter how you cut it For the next year Intels competion for the next year will be against its own differant models. When Merom comes out the prices on yonah should drop like a rock. Looks like the economy Class high performance Gaming PC's in all classes will be intel.
