So let's see;

Pros

Yonah Cost about $400 less.

Yonah uses less Power.

Yonah puts off less heat.

Yonah performs neck and neck with the FX-60 at stock.

Overclocks better.

Cons

Limited motherboard support.

Doesn't come with the Cute case sticker.

So when folks here start talking about AMD is cheaper and runs cooler, they're just misinformed IMHO!

Umm, broken link, and a Core Duo T2600 2.16GHZ/667/2MB equal to the Athlon FX 60 2.6GHZ/2x1MB? In what... may I ask?

Oh yeah cons, no SLI support.

Less heat/less power = 1 point.

You would be correct. What use is the fastest processor on planet earth if it doesn't support the fastest video card array on planet earth? ;)

Really though, I'll never buy anything from "AOpen." Until I see this from ASUS, Abit, or Intel themselves, I consider it a niche market product.

AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+ (2.2 GHz) 1366

Though close, that's the first time an Opteron has lost any Apache Benchmark at this site, ever. Woodcrest ships up to 3GHz with a 1333MHz FSB.

Try it again? The GamePC review lists their board with about the same results. The first review uses a DFi NF4 LanParty SLi-DR.

Here...from Tyrou..

Heres the linky....http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1427232#post1427232

From Tyrou....

actual vcore was 1.64v

I didn't measure the temps, evap temp is in the -105c range, and this cpus doesn't put out a lot of heat, so -100c @ load is not impossible

the fsb is the limitating factor, the cpu is rock stable @ 3830, but no way to make even a cpuz validation @ 3850

Hey Donnie that link is busted, you may wanna fix it before you start posting it everywhere (already seen it in a few threads).

I already tried, just go to http://www.iamxtreme.com/ and go to the review then. My bad!

HEAD TO HEAD, T2600 VS FX60

This is the missing link for runing SLI with Intel board...Its hacked :) .....Intel SLi drivers version 84.43

Yup I saw them going back and forth at Xsys last week!

But that only shows the Athlon 64x2 4400+ being competitive with the Core Duo T2600. the Athlon FX 60 is quite a bit faster...

Unless you wanted to say that an overclocked to 2.6GHZ Core Duo T2600 is competitive with a stock FX 60...

I own both FX60 and T2600 and I can say that beetween these two its 200Mhz difference. So, 3.2G T2600 is as fast as 3.4G FX60 and faster than FX57 and X2 4800..

one could always just point out the simple (and blindingly obvious) fact that Yonah is dual core.... AMD aint gonna be shipping Turion X2 for a long time i bet.....

before you say all synthetic benchmarks are useless its important to note 2k01. :p, second another guy is making some more game benchies later, so hold on, and relax, also 2k05 is owned by amd out of the top 20, 19 are by amd... and I mean owned by amd. The top ten are amd, and he is number 11 then the next nine are amd. The next 20 are amd as well.

I don't place much stock on synthetics, they are pretty to look at for the 3D Mark ones, and interesting from a theoretical perspective but that is all.

I will make a decision once real application benchmarks are released.

How bout sngle core Yonah Celeron M 430 Core Solo @ 100%+ overclocked from 1.73Ghz stock....

How the hell can a Sempron compete with that? Intel means business finally (assuming Coneron is in the works).

Duo's are useless dual cores. They don't support 64bit. Crap...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&description=&srchInDesc=&minPrice=&maxPrice=

It doesn't matter jack shit how good they are. If ya can't go 64bit then your left in the dust.

I would hate a cpu alot if I could not run 64bit windows. Or 64 bit apps. USELESS...

They get performance out of 32bit invierments. Try running them in 64 bit agenst a FX-60... Oh wait you can't. What idiot in intel made a fucking CPU that can't run 64bit. Dur retardo. There is a big difference in the lifespan of these Duo cpus. They will be useless in 6 months. 64bit is the future. Duos cheat, must have one hell of a 32bit arc but its just a hyped up peice of crap 32 bit sand box. Opsolete!!! "." 32bit makes me sick. Cheap bastards. How can ya make a chip cost 600 bucks and it be worthless cus it doesn't support bloody 64bit instructions. Thats freaken insane, no wonder it can perform so good because it has extra 32 bit pipes god knows how many. With out 64bit pipes its nothing because it simply can't opperate in a 64bit invierment. When everything runs 64bit and nolonger 32bit whats ya going to do? Be way behind in tech. Ta yeah. Thats bloody rediculess.

Sounds like they got lazy on 64bit instructions there. Any AMD in a 64bit invierment is just no compitition even a intel with 64bit instructions is better off then a Duo cpu is. I can't beleave they still make 32bit cpus. AMD doesn't but why intel? Gives no advantage for the future. What a stupid desine idea gone wrong. Well good luck in the next year or 2 with that. 32bit is just ancent history. What a waist of money whoever is the idiots buy the cpu's must be outside your minds. Performance means dittaly squat if it can't use the software you want to run on it.

Good luck intel fan boys with that one. ha ha the jokes on you. bla yada bla

Conroe does indeed support 64-bit.

64-bit was dropped on Yonah in order to get it out the door quicker. It doesn't matter really, since people will buy Yonahs anyways since AMD's mobile line SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.

If so, those folks needing 64bit can get Conroe later or Presler 64bit- VT or even the Budget Cedar Mill as well. Then it can do something AMD can't until AM2 launches, that's run X86-64 the way it was truely meant to run, not Dual Boot but Dual OS's at once switching between 64bit and 32bit.

On another note, until Vista launches, not many folks seem to think 64bit is as important as you've tried to make it seem. If anyone wastes their money, that's their busines. Doesn't matter if they'd do something as stupid as buying either Intel or AMD processors just prior to price cuts and Socket changes or new architectures, unless that person needs something right now.

While folks are talking about performance Crowns going back and forth, many us Intel and AMD users wonder why in the hell Yonah is DQ'd from this competition?

That rocks and compared to the old days, giving that bad boy 1MB of L2, it shouldn't be called a Celeron at all. But seeing some Conroes with 4MB that still holds to the 25% rule. Real motherboard support is why I didn't go that route.

I keep hearing there will be no Core Solo Conroe, thats a shame if true.

nVidia Fans need to wake up as well. Whats going on with SLI is an all-time low for its sleaze factor. The reason is one thing but there's not excuse why nVidia shouldn't be trashed in this. SO to blame lack of SLI on anyone but nVidia is a joke. Hell they even went after Regeneration for *fixing the drivers LOL! Many of these same folks call Intel and RAMBUS names, WOW! Oh well, more sales for ATI on Conroe and Yonah boards.

Yonah is the best you can get now, too bad it does not have the best platform. :(

Inasmuch as I love nVidia (and hate ATI), I have to agree with you. nVidia locking down SLI to nothing but the SLI chipset is wrong. The Ultra-D, 955X, 975X, and ULi chipsets are fully capable of running SLI, all you need is two full-length PCI-Express slots. What does nVidia do? The driver checks your chipset, and if it doesn't detect an SLI chipset it locks yo out. You pay extra and are locked to a certain platform, all for a driver checksum. nVidia and Intel could make a lot of money by supporting this more. Intel by encouraging board makers to create a better platform, and nVidia by stopping the stupid "pay-for-the-SLI-namebrand" tactic.

Oh well, as long as Intel works something out by the time Conroe hits, I'm cool. It'd really be funny if Intel gave nVidia the middle finger, and allowed SLI via their chipset drivers.

You got it! At one time I had 6 computers, 4 had nVidia and two had ATI. Now that's 2 to 2. If nVidia's keeps this crap up, I'm not buying anything else from them=P Folks in this market shouldn't accept this kind of BS from them or anyone else, including Intel, AMD or any of them. FIrst, they tried to say Intel didn't send them the correct info, then that they never got it. Oh and the last one was a beauty! They said they need to use 32x or two 16 X lanes to work correctly so that's what the drivers checks for, LOL!

nVidia BSing Intel

So if nVidia does get that next big jump in performance, AMD get's it, Intel doesn't. The Blog and the links are very interesting.
