After many, many iterations, I finally have a working WC setup!

And, I'm seeing significant improvements on my dual 8800GTS 340 MB Superclocked GPUs: 42 Deg C and 44 Deg C (idle), compared to 59 Deg C and 64 Deg C (idle) on my previous air-cooled setup.

I am using a Koolance PC4-1025BK. I am very impressed with it so far.

A few items:

1) Some of my RAM sinks are not firmly attached - I used Ceramique for thermal conductivity under the sinks, and they still "float". I couldn't get an adhesive to work. As long as the system isn't moved around much, I hope it will be OK.

2) My MC21 MOSFET sinks are superglued onto the MOSFETS, with the original thermal tape still in place. I hope that the superglue won't affect the thermal transfer too much, but it was the only way I could figure out how to attach the MC21s so that they wouldn't keep falling off.

You just invalidated your warranty big time, and if the superglue inhibits heat transfer, you just wasted a lot of money.
 
I'm curious - How did I invalidate my warranty? eVGA's warranty looks pretty liberal.

Also, is there any other way to get the MC21s to stick besides superglue?

Most people use ceramique and using a pin apply a very tiny bit of superglue to a couple of corners. Thus you can get them off again without too much fuss.
 
TECHNICALLY the warranty would be void because the card has to be in re-sellable conditions to qualify for a replacement or RMA... But, since the thermal padding is such a horrible gluing surface, the mosfet sinks will twist right off.

I was wondering about this, but the MOSFETs (and MC21) are so tiny, I didn't think it was possible. I couldn't get this process to work reliably on the larger RAM chips, so I thought the MOSFETs are out of the question. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - maybe too much Ceramique messing up the superglue (since I can't hold the sink steady when pressing on it)?

BTW, does anybody know whether I've skrood the pooch by using superglue with the regular MC21 thermal pad? It seemed to me that the superglue is such an extremely thin surface that it wouldn't have a huge effect.

Do the mosfet heatsinks still get warm to the touch?
