ok so i have my external 200gb disk pluged into my system
i've had it pluged in for 3 weeks now
(firewire 400)
yesterday i randomly got the message
unable to write to $volume$ the folder is missing or corupt....
(ntfs)
analyzed it using ontrack recovery software
got all my data transfered to another HD safely

i tested out the drive enclosure by tossing in an old 10gb drive
and transfering on and off for 10hours strait with no issues
and tested the origional drive itself for quite a few hours with no issues

i'm curious if anyone has ever heard of the volume folder on a ntfs drive sudenly becoming corpt for no reson

i know its not a virus as the machine has never connected to the net
and have run scans on it

its just wierd
