How big is the performance gap between the two?

Does the gap justify the price difference?

well, with the xp-120, you can mount a quiter 120 mm fan. and the wingspan is larger and cools even more. if i had to pick, id get the xp90 cause its cheaper(25 bucks from svc with the coupon xp90) because the price to performance ratio is higher with the xp90 vs the xp120. they are both superb coolers, just make sure the xp120 can fit your board before you pick it up.

basically if you can get it the xp120 preforms best

did you see the review? 1-2 degree difference, worth the extra money? Its up to you.

It also only fits so many boards as the xp90 fits most....

Also, not a huge difference between the XP-90 and a Zalman 7000AlCu.

I can't speak for Zalaman, but I used a $10 Zalaman knock off once. It was really nice. typpically the Zalamans are superb for non overclocked silent cooling… and so is the XP-90 with a silent fan.

but

You can throw a tornado on an XP-90 and gain a 25%+ OC**.
**my buddy’s got a 600mhz OC using a 9.2cm tornado & XP-90 on his Athlon-XP.

…only problem is, ever since the tornado & XP-90 nobody wants to LAN with him anymore. ;-p “”

The overclockers.com heatsink ratings have the XP-90 rated slightly better than the XP-120. Basically, it comes down to which fan you use. Personally, I would get the XP-90 for its smaller size and cheaper price.

xp90 doesnt fit on socket a........ i have an SI97 with a tornado on my axp2500+ right now

i think im going to get the xp90 when i move to socket 939 because its more adaptable to different motherboards, and i can re use my tornado (on a fan controller of course  )
