what is the program that unlocks the refresh rate for windows XP and where can i find it, i had it and used it but found out that i can not play BF1942 with forced on because frequency is "out of range", i have it at only 70hz to keep vsync at 70 instead of 60, i tried to change those settings for BF in notepad or whatever and still no go, i dont know where i got the program and cant seem to find it on my computer.

thanks

An "Out of Range" error on your monitor means that your monitor cannot keep up with the desired refresh setting no matter how many files you edit or programs you install.

If you want to play at a higher refresh rate you're going to have to lower your resolution.

Just for your reference, I think you might be thinking about RefreshForce.

Also, I think there's another way to overcome the 60 hz limitation in BF1942, it's somewhere on the EA support site.

well it started doing it after i rose the refresh rate with this program, and i need to find it again to set my things at default. before everything worked fine.

EDIT: thanks lee, ill check it out

yeah i did try that editing the con file to fix the refresh rate in BF, still no go, i guess ill redownload refresh force and set everything to default

thanks all

Sorry, I misunderstood your original post to mean that you were trying to force BF1942 to run at a higher refresh even though you were getting Out of Range errors.

I had used RefreshForce myself, but uninstalled it after I found out that it forces the same refresh rate across the board even when the hardware can't keep up.

Just curious, but what are trying to lock at 70Hz? Another program that you can't find the settings for?
