XP Pro droping internet connection

Here is what is happening. When I'm connected to the net, cable connection, there are no problems at all. But when I leave the computer and come back maybe an hour later I can't connect. The LAN status icon in the task shows that there is a connection.
Anyone have an idea what's going on?

When I was running 2k Pro I never had this problem.
 
Looks like an Idle-Time problem, either a setting in XP, your modem, or your ISP ?
