Ok,
I need to test some websites in IE7 at work so I installed XP Mode on my Windows 7 Pro x64 install, upgraded it to IE7 and then created a shortcut in All Users\Start Menu\Programs so I could run IE7 right next to IE8 (as a virtual application). The problem is, when I try to fire it up I get an error saying it cannot start. I have the same setup running on an identical system elsewhere in the office and it works fine. Anyone have a clue what could be wrong?

What is the error.
Check event logs.
Does the CPU support virtualisation?

Check the task manager to see if vpc.exe is still running. I have had a few machines do the same thing, where the process is still running when it shouldn't be. If you kill that process and start the published virtual app again, it will work. Oddly enough, it doesn't do it on every machine I have worked with, but when it happens, its only with IE7 based apps.
