I'm working on a friends computer and I try to restart the machine and it hangs. It goes through the normal process: Logging off, saving settings, then windows is shutting down and just sits there for 2 minutes. I have to manually hold in the power button to turn it off.
Any ideas on what can be causing this? In event viewer everything looks fine except for: ' save dump' computer has rebooted from a bug check, a dump was not saved'.
My research leads me to believe it could be a memory issue. What memory testing software do you guys recommend?
Asus a8n-sli
dual 7800GT
4200 + Dual Core
Win XP Pro
