XFX 6800 GT Strange Problems

My XFX 6800 GT has started acting up wiredly... Its an XFX AGP 6800GT Dual DVI version... The problem started about two months back... I accidently swappent DVI converters on my XFX 6600 GT with this card... The card worked fine for few hours but then started giving problems... Firstly colours went bad... I thought the VGA wire has gone loose but after tightening it the colours still didnt go correct... Then tried the other port of the card and this time there was no display at all... I tried the second spare DVI to VGA converter of my 6600 GT on the 6800 GT and it worked but the same thing happened to this converter after a couple of hours... I then realised that both the converters are of my 6600 GT. I wasnt aware of this till the time i tried both of the converters cause my 6600GT converters have XFX embossed on it while 6800GT one has an arrow sort of thing on it. I switched back to my 6800 GT converter and the card started working fine...

Now after two months the card is giving me artifacts randomly... I thought it might be a driver corrouption as i had upgraded them to 78.03... I again downgraded to 71.xx in the proper way (Uninstall>Safe mode>Driver cleaner pro>reboot>normal Mode>71.xx) and tried farCry it gave me artifacts again.... I switched off the machine again and tried again and it worked this time... The same thing has been happening since last two days... t gives artifacts in windows randomly... I thought it might be heating up so i opened up the HSF assemply... Cleaned the fan... Applied the Thermal paste... gave it another go...

The card worked fine this time in games and in windows but now a new problem has started happening... Windows is jerking... I dont know how else to describe this... The bloddy thing hangs for a mili second and then goes back to normal... The mouse movement makes you feel the thing... I tried running a movie and it jerked...

Now the last option left it to format and do a clean install... But i have a doubt that the card is dying slowely... Mind you the card has never been overclocked ever and is running on stock... I am posting my system specs below... What could be the other possible problem and what all esle should i try...

First thing I have to ask is, what is an L&T power supply? Is it one of those $40 generic power supplies? If so, I would say right off the bat that the power supply is dieing and is not supplying the power needed by your system.

nops its not generic $40 odd supply... Its a decent PSU with decent AMp's on 12v line... Around 20 odd... Not siiting on that rig as of now so cant confirm...

Also that was the first thing which had come to my mind so i disconnected my optical drives and still the same thing happened...
