x850 xt and widescreen....

[Direfox]

I was thinking about upgrading my monitor to a ViewSonic VA1912wb or something similar, but I'm not sure if my (ATI brand) x850 xt AGP video card will support it. The box shows the card will do the 16:9 ratio with 1920 x 1080, but it doesnt say anything about 1440 x 900. Right now I'm on a 17" LCD at 1280x1024, but the widescreen format sounds a lot better.

It may mean up to that point. So you should be OK. I have never tried widescreen yet as I am still on a crappy CRT.

My X800 XT does 1920x1200 on my Dell 2405FPW if that helps you at all.

I have an X850XT and I run 16:10 1680x1050, so you should be all right.

Theres a table at the bottom with a list of supported 2D resolutions. Also says that XP supports 16:9 aspect ratio on 1920x1080 and 848x480 and other resolutions depending the drivers.
