um I am a bit confused...

are the x800xt and the x800xt pe the same card? i have a giga-byte x800xt on order and am just waiting patiently for it to come in but im wondering if this is the top of the line x800?

ive seen some reviews and stuff that show one card at 500 core and 500 memory and another card at 520 core and 5XX memory(dont remember) is this the x800xt and the x800xt p.e.?

or am i right and are these the same card?

please dont tell me there are 3 versions of this card...

1. x800 pro
2. x800xt
3. x800xt p.e.

ok, so i am getting an AGP 8x. does that mean that the x800xt pe is the only one available?
 
the difference between the XT and XT PE is 20mhz on the core clock.
 
the main reason i question this is when you go to giga-byte's web site it has it listed as follows...

Basically gigabyte is calling it just a x800xt, no where do they mention P.E. It is AGP 8x but they are saying basically that you can get an x800xt in agp 8x form. they also have the x800xt P.E. listed but only in PCI-E form. I hope this is just a mistake of some sort...
 
well i did some searching on the net and found a picture of the box which does state P.E. version. also i checked a couple other websites and they do appear to state that this card is 520/1120. so i answered my own question, sorry for the repost if there was already one about this, i have a habbit of just searching the first 2 pages manually and then post from there 8(
 
There is NO X800 XT for 8x AGP. Only PCI-E.

Some sites list it as X800 XT because that is its core name. The X800 XT PE is just a speed boost to the X800 XT 500/500 which never got released. The sites that list selling an X800 XT AGP card are really just selling the PE. You can tell right away on some of the sites because they will say its an X800 XT and then when you look at the core speed is says 520Mhz.

If you look on ATI's webisite there is no listing for the X800 XT. I think ATI was going to release one in the beginning but then changed their minds.

So if you see an X800 XT listed on a site for sale its a PE and if you see one in a review its ither because they just listed it as the X800 XT for short or because they downclocked it to 500/500 for some ignorant reason like Anandtech. I'm still curious what the hell they added an X800 XT and X800XT PE to their list of cards they used in their recent article. It makes no sense at all because you can't buy an X800 XT AGP.

I can understand why they did it in their PCI-E review though because there is a PCI-E X800 XT and it would be unfair to try and compare it to an AGP X800XT PE.

Someone needs to contact Anandtech and see what the heck is up.
 
I'm freaking confused about this too.

I'm going to email ATI about it. I'll let you dudes know what they say.
 
There'S so far only one version of the X800 Pro for sale and one version of the X800 XT for sale, which is called PE from ATI, but all the other XT cards by other companies are the same.

There won't be an X800 Pro PCIe, at least I assume that, the X800 lineup for PCIe will be a X800 XT PE and a lower clocked $450 X800XT
