x800 xt heat issue

I have an x800 xt inside of my shuttle sk83g. This is a small form factor PC and under heavy load my card can get up to 75 degrees celcius with the case on. I was wondering if A) this is too hot for this card to run or if it will be ok; and B) should I mod my case to make a hole for the fan or should I just leave the case off?
 
Some SFF cases still have enough room for dual slot cooling solutions, so something like this may work best if your case can accomodate it. The reason being that it exhausts the hot air out the back of the case.

The biggest problem I see is that in a desktop case this is not only a dual slot solution, but one that requires that the PCI slot cover be removed for exhausting of hot and I don't think that an SFF case can accommodate this; I'm just not familiar enough with your model to say for sure.
 
The thing about shuttles is that the AGP slot is the closest one to the side so the PCI slot is behind my gfx card. That link you sent me, I have never seen one of those in action before so I do not know if it goes in front or behind the gfx card. Will it fit and make a difference if it is in the PCI slot that is behind my gfx card?

Um, look at the cooler on the x800 XT. The Silencer replaces that cooler. ;)
 
o ok I see how it works now. I'll look into that then and see how it works, most of the people in the reviews seem to like it so I might as well give it a shot.

It is the same cooler as is used on the HIS Ice-Q and Sapphire Toxic series x800s. I've got the nVidia version, it is very nice.

Is it fairly easy to install? It would be the first time that I installed something like this so I don't want to mess it up.
 
Its very easy to install. You do need alot of space for it though, I'm not sure if it would fit in a SFF case like yours. You can check compatibility online or by opening your case and doing some measurements. I installed that cooler on my XT PE, works fantastic. That temp is a bit hot, but it's not enough to damage your card.
