X800 XL Broken?

just got my new X800 XL, upgraded from 9200SE :p

ok heres my problem, when i try to watch movies in windows media player its realli laggy and i can only see like 5 colors, liek mostly green and some red,orange,purple. why is it doing this? i deleted the drivers and installed them again but nothing. games work fine no artifacts..nothing.so plz help me I tryed to take a screen shot but all i get in hte pic is black were the movies is???

 
Try going into media player options and turning off hardware acceleration. If this solves the problem then you should reinstall your drivers. If it doesn't then your videos are just 4 or 5 colors
 
the videos arent 4-5 colors because they worked on my 9200...i turned off hardware excelleration and now it works..so are my drivers messed? and also in games like F.E.A.R my comp restarts right when it finishes loading, why is that? could it be because my ram gets maxed out all 1024MB of it?

 
CTRL + i = screen capture in windows media player.

i can get the screen shot but when i close media player i cant see the pic no more so i cant show you guys :confused: but when i turn of hardware excelleration it works fine... so whats wrong with my hardware excelleration?

 
I know what you're talking about. It's not the video card's job. You probably have to download the right codecs from www.free-codecs.com. I had the same problem with my old x800xl.
 
this is making me mad.. spent 380 (cdn) and it dont work properly :mad: :mad: i installed codecs and now media player wont work at all...guess ill jus reformat and see if that works. what you guys think?

Do you have the latest version of Media Player?
 
Try going into Display Properties, Options and turning off WMV Acceleration.
 
I love you HOCP4ME :p it worked..i was using wmp 9 upgraded to 10 and it works perfectly. thx for all the help everyone :D

 
It doesnt matter if you have 1024MB, the game shouldnt crash because of the windows page file.
 
why do you think its crashing, bad ram? psu not powerful enough? (400watt garbage)

Turn you hardware "excelleration" (as you put it :p ) back on and see if that solves the problem with your game.
