X6800 Overheating

Hey guys, I've been having some problems with my CPU lately... mostly with heating issues. I have a X6800 connected to a San Ace Sanyo Denki watercooling set up... I've had issues lately with the cpu overheating, even to the point of not being able to use my computer for over 6 months. It turns on, and then the temperature rapidly increases to 75c at which point my computer turns itself off.

I've contacted my support at Falcon, and they seem to be giving me a hard time with shipping it back to be fixed as I live in the Arctic and shipping rates are insane.

What I wanna know is how, if possible, I can get it fixed without any help from them. Any one here able to give me some pointers?
 
First thing I would do is check that 1 or more of the push pins for the cpu fan/heat sink assembly (hsf) has not come lose, being it may have come loose when the pc was originally shipped to you.

If that does not help, then I would completely remove the cpu hsf assembly, clean the old themopaste off and reapply some fresh paste and reinstall the hsf.

You can also keep track of your progress by download CoreTemp to monitor cpu tempatures.
