I've a question about the VCore Voltages. Right now I've set it to 1.4 to ensure stability and under load it's running at 45-46c.

My BIOS Settings are:
FSB - 250Mhz
Multi - 10x
DDR400 Rated Ram down'd to 166Mhz = DDR333
HT Link is at 800

Results are:
Core Speeds of 2.5Ghz
HTT speeds of 998.6Mhz
Ram speed is at DDR416 - 208Mhz @ 3-3-3-7-2T
[Rated for 3-3-3-8-2T]

I was wondering if I should drop the VCore to 1.375? or to leave it at 1.4?

Thanks, all I know is that if I do drop the VCore Voltage a little and it's still stable that's suppose to help me to keep my cpu cooler? I'm a little new to VCore Voltage adjusting so I'm taking it easy... I'll keep you posted.

X2 3800+ can do 2.5 at stock voltage so leave CPU voltage to Auto and do some stability tests again, I have my X2 3800+ at 2.5Ghz stock volt.

not all will do 2.5 out of the box.

mine requires 1.4 vcore.

just a bad chip i guess! but its stable, and pretty cool, so whatever.

u guys so lucky, i have to put my vcore @ 1.475 just for 2.3 on my chip. mine is extremely bad chip i guess

I have been running my s939 3800 x2 @ 2.5ghz (and 2.53ghz) on 1.4v for a few months. It's been stable.

Today I dropped it down to 1.375v and it's still running stable so far. 253mhz FSB, 10x CPU mult, 4x HT mult, RAM is at 211mhz (422ddr)

What's a little odd is that speedfan/everest/etc are still showing 1.39-1.40v on Vcore. Not sure what is going on here. Maybe just a weird reporting issue with my mobo (Asus A8N-E). When I used to run at 1.4v (as set in BIOS), speedfan/everest would show 1.45v on Vcore.

Anyone else have an A8N-E board and seen similar things? Also, if you have an A8N-E, I'd be curious to hear what your highest HTT/FSB OC has been.

Ouch? But anything over RATED speed is a bonus, my X2 3800+ does 2.4ghz at stock volts, needs a .05 bump to be 100% at 2.5ghz, and only needs 1.45 vcore to be 100% at 2.6ghz, anything over though, and it balks sometimes at 1.5v and 2.7ghz, plus it gets smoking hot....

...I leave it at 2.6ghz @1.45v and it stays at 52c or less all the time even in this hot ass summer......in cooler weather I see 45c-47c max load temps....

Jmphx, It's possible that your board is overvolting your processor, the reason why you were able to get a great overclock, with "stock" settings...

lucky you, therapture, nice oc. i tried to run on 2.4 @ 1.5 and still crash after 10hrs prime and only 10mins on game. its really pissed me off. i guess i have to stick to this peace of junk for a while until i can lay my hand on core duo 2. :(
