Has anyone tried software Crossfire with 2 x1950xt cards? I ordered 2 cards thinking I could do this but I havent found anyone that has tried it. I have 1 x1950xt on hand and another that should be here today but I cant use them yet cuz my mobo took a dump during a bios upgrade and I had to RMA it. If no software x-fire ill have to send these back.

I want crossfire mainly to use the 14x AA feature, as most my games are older strategy games. I'm not into the whole kill-everyone-in-sight FPS thing.

NO. You need a crossfire edition card...
Your best bet would have been 1 8800GTS since it can do 16xS Anti-aliasing...

Some people have reported having trouble running some of the older games. Diablo2 is the game I play the most and I dont play that everyday. I just got me the War Craft Battle chest today. I have been running on an xp3000+ and a 9550 Radoen so I'm way behind with games. I guess if I got the 8800 I would never need to upgrade.

Software Crossfire should work with Catalyst Drivers 6.11 or later. Obviously it is not as fast as using a master card, but it works.

Have you ever seen a x1950xt CF edition card?

No one has x1950xt cards?

The mobo I RMA'd seems to be lost on some UPS truck somewhere. It might be a long time before I get this tested.

It should work; there are two reviews showing performance of software crossfire here and here

I have the cards installed and they appear to be working with Crossfire..

Going to do some tweaking and see what if I can get anymore out of them.
