x1950gt & atitool oc problem

I've got atitool 0.27b installed and I can't seem to get it to work properly. I've gone to the options tab and enabled the "driver level overclocking...". Whenever I increase the mem or core frequency and hit set clock, it just goes back to the default setting. Is there a setting or something else I'm missing here?
 
Try ATIClk, can't seem to find a link for you ATM, but it supports the x1950 series. Worked for me. Hope that helps.
 
Okay, I'll look into it. How about AMD GPU Tool? Is that software any good? I basically would like something that is simple, has a built-in artifact finder, and can monitor gpu temperature. Oh and of course has to be compatible with my x1950gt.
 
Weird, so I hit the find max clock options and now since it atitool has changed the clocks for me, I can now change them myself to whatever i want. I can hit the set clock button and it actually sticks. It's about 5mhz lower than what I set, but at least I can change the clocks now.

Is there a way to verify that the video card is actually running these speeds I have set in atitool? When I open up the overdrive feature in CCC, it still says my actual speed is at default. Wouldn't it detect high speeds since I have them set in atitool?
