X1900XTX display corruption

I've just installed an X1900XTX 512Mb. Since doing so, I have a display corruption. Like this:

In program windows, they also appear and leave pink trails if you move the window.

I've tried the latest driver and e-installed Catalyst Control Centre but no change. The problem disappears if I change to 16-bit colour as opposed to 32-bit

The display looked fine in 32-bit colour with the old X1300 and also with a Matrox 450 running through 15" LCD screens. I'm using the Packard Bell CT500 for testing.

This is my system spec:

MSI 975X Platinum Power Up
E6600 proc
2Gb RAM
250Gb Maxtor SATA system disk
2 x 500Gb Seagate Barracuda SATA disks (will be configured as RAID 0 once I figure out how to load Jmicrontools as CTRL+J doesn't seem to do it)
Card reader
2 x DVD drives
650w Atrix PSU

Any suggestions (not too techie as I'm not up to speed) or is my card faulty? Thanks in advance for your input
 
Try a different set of drivers, I use 7.1 with my X1950 XT and they're perfect. Use Drivercleaner to remove your current drivers, reboot, and install new Catalyst.
 
I've tried 3 different drivers including the latest. It still has the same problem. Although, I haven't used Drivercleaner. Is that likely to make a difference?
 
Tried another monitor, still the same.

I bought the card 2nd hand but believe it is still under warranty. I had the prob from the moment I installed it. I guess the answer is to test it in another PC to see if it's working OK.
 
Seems like a hardware issue to me. A bad cable would make colors look weird, but not have a corrupted display. Seems like a memory thing.
 
seems like its a issue with your lcd, (if thats what you're using)

hook up a crt and see if its still there
 
Thanks for your input guys. It is going to have to wait till after my hols. Then I'll try it in another PC or with a CRT. If it's till no go, I'll RMA it.
