X1300 512mb Crossfire

What the hell would you do with 2 X1300's in crossfire!?! Watch your pr0n DVDs in UUBER HIGH SEIZURE INDUCING HD?

Except - for the moment - the X1300 can only do "HD" at 480p. Which I can't fathom why anyone would care about, as a CPU that can't handle decoding a 720x480 picture....*shudders*.

I mean, seriously, that's totally brain damaged. "HD" at 480p. Woohoo! That's only, like, the STANDARD motion picture DVD res! (Granted, TV show DVDs are 480i, but, c'mon, ANY system can handle 480p, and it sure as hell ain't "HD"!)
 
the x1300 in any form is garbage however if you have a crossfire board or are looking for one i got 2 x1600xt and a crossfire board for 450 dollars this combo outperforms a 7800gtx or a x1800xt im quite happy with it

I'm skeptical of that.

Last set of tests I'd seen showed X1600XTs in crossfire outperforming an X1800XL off and on, but I can't imagine it would pass an X1800XT up. Excepting 3dMark - which doesn't really reflect any games currently available - in what titles do you find that X1600XTs superior?

(I mean, I'd LIKE to believe that - I have an X1600XT on its way, myself - only cost me $140. Using an mATX case, though, so no Crossfire mobos *yet*. Presuming that would change someday, and if I could find another one of those at that price - X1800XT performance for $280 would be mighty damn hard to resist! But...as I said...I'm skeptical.)

And, as a caution - it's easy to dismiss the X1300s when we are used to the performance of $300+ card...but, really, consider - an X1300 Pro is ONLY $100!

This is the same price point that in years past 64-bit GeForceFX 5200s and GeForce4 MXs existed in....that's pretty darn impressive for what you get today in this bracket!

I mean, with *few* exceptions, an X1300Pro with FSAA and AF off can provide really good framerates in ANY modern title, with the graphics in-game cranked halfway (or sometimes ALL the way) up at 1024x768. That's...really kinda cool, actually.

your right the benchs will go back and forth they still have alot to gain out of the drivers with crossfire
i had the single card for a while it was ok but the 2 together and im using a intel Pentium d 820 @3.2ghz with 2gb of ram it performs quite nice just was playing COD2 at 1280x1024 with 4xaa 8xaf and just about everything on and it didnt go below 30fps with fraps running as high as 55 is some spots for that game that is good.
 
512MB of RAM is useless on an X1300, 256MB aproaches uselss IMO also for that level of card, for $199 I'd recommend the 6800 GS
