x-fi question (usage, I have one)

ok, can I connect my home theater to this with spdif and still matain full surround support with my 5.1 setup in games or is it like most sound cards which require you to use analog connecters (i.e. one for front r,l-one for back r,l- and one for center/sub ) for games and the spdif works only with ac3 audio and stuff like that ??

The SP/DIF output will only pass 5.1 sound if passed through from original 5.1 content sources, such as DVD playback.

For 5.1 sound from other sources like games, you have to use the analog connections.
