WT? is tigerdriect trying to pull now?

lol, if you use the equation a^2 + b^2 = c^2 you'll see that C is not actually 19 inches like displayed in the diagram

20^2 + 23.50^2 = C^2

in this case c = 30.9 inches which is far from 19 inches

You guys need to get better at reading entire web pages.

Specifications

Viewable Screen Size 19 inches
Display Area 14.8" x 11.86"
Contrast Ratio Learn More 700:1
Maximum Resolution 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz

14.8^2 + 11.86^2 = 19^2

The 23.5"x20.0" dimensions are for the entire physical monitor, not screen size. If you look above the image then you will see the dimensions for the screen, which DO work out with pythagorean's theorem, as snugglebear showed. I sometimes get the feeling that people feel left out and just try to find something wrong with tigerdirect. I have nothing against them.

^^ but hey, the equation work :p

he was talking about the red numbers, I read the webpage, same conlcusion as you have
but the red numbers are wrong ;)

edit: damn this post was meant for Snugglebear

at the above poster, I have a 19 inch monitor, and dimensions are not like the ones in the webpage

The manufacturer's website lists 23.5"x20.0"x6.0" as the package size. I think someone at tigerdirect was trying to get creative. Still, I wouldn't let one picture discredit the entire company. It is not like that picture is proof that they are peeing on every fourth item they ship out. The picture does not in any way change the product they ship or their service. I don't have any association with them, but it is going to take more than one image to sway me away from tigerdirect. If you don't trust them then that is fine, but I don't think you should come in here talking like tigerdirect is just a bunch of lying scumbags.

To me the red lines and numbers pretty clearly illustrate the size of the entire monitor, not just the screen size. After all, nobody quotes a depth with viewable image size. Secondly, given that many buy LCDs for their reduced footprint vs. CRTs, providing total measurements makes good sense. And no, I've never done business with these guys nor really care to do so. Despite all the positive and negative hype around, I've always found online stores to be much more unpleasant to deal with than locals, even Fry's.

If any locals got early stock on things like X800 Pro's or refurb delas like $140 9700 Pro's I'd probably say the same, but till then, viva newegg and tigerdirect and zipzoomfly and essential computers
