I haven't ordered anything from Newegg after they dropped the [H].
Well a few days ago I buckled and made a purchase. They were about $30 cheaper than anyone else for a dual Xeon board.

So I said heck with it an ordered.

Box came today and I popped it opened......

WTF?!

Ok, ok, it is kinda wedged, but where is the packing material?

Then I take the mobo box out to see if it is ok...... It's wet!
The shipping box is perfectly dry. It's like they dropped my mobo box in a puddle at the shipping center and then shipped it... with out any packing materials.

Pics of water damaged box.

Needless to say I called newegg and I'm sending it back and they will ship me a new one. I'm afraid that the new one will have the same crap-tacular shipping.

Looks like my -bigadv box will take a bit longer

It is going to be a long long time before I place another order at Newegg.

Bummer man, I have never seen this with them.. my i7 parts came way over-packed. :(

Wow, I've never had anything like that happen with shipping from the Egg.

My mobo came the same way when I ordered it. The mobo box ended up slightly open and the I/O shield fell out of the box entirely somewhere enroute :(

Wow that's really crappy. I have always had great experiences with the Egg although most of my new rig came from Amazon due to no tax and cheaper prices overall. The stuff I did order though was great.

There is no excuse for packaging like that. That's just awful, especially for electronic gear...

Sorry to see your stuff come so messed up! Although I don't like Newegg for there shipping cost, everything I have received has been overpacked. Don't open the box like christmas morning or there will be peanuts EVERYWHERE!!

Also, is 14 SATA ports enough for you?? What are your plans with that beast?

Well, that is the polar opposite of everything I've gotten from Newegg. They tend to overpack in my experience. In any case, that's really a shame. Hopefully the replacement will come in better condition (and hopefully some heads will get knocked around over at Newegg HQ).

weird, they have always went out of their way to package over what was necessary in all my orders....maybe it was a new kids first day?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the shipper most likely did that. I'm thinking the box came open and the goods fell out - most likely into a puddle - and they reboxed it and delivered it hoping you wouldn't notice.

I've had probably 30 shipments from them over the last year and they are all packed tightly with styro peanuts and very secure...

We'll know for sure though when your replacement shows up.

That is very very odd. I have gotten 5 x Newegg orders (Memphis Warehouse) over the last two weeks without a single issue.

Hope you get that system up and running very soon.

I am going to walk all over you in the PPD department.

TN warehouse is always flawless for me; everything gets packed very nicely.

Rarely I get stuff from CA or NY but usually that stuff is packed not so bad as well. Which warehouse did yours come from? (Check your invoice)

I'd be surprised if that was from TN; they seem like they're really on the ball in terms of good packing skills.

I might agree with this but, I think the shipper would return it.
If you can, show us the box.

I would think it's the carrier. ups and fedex will repack boxes that come apart.
was the shipping label taped to the box?

I am willing to bet the carrier screwed up as others have stated. Never have I had a motherboard packed from them in such a small box and all of my recent shipments have come in boxes that have the NewEgg logo imprinted on them on the sides.

<evil laugh> My plan is working, I have sieged your castle.
Now if I get that new board sent to my castle, muhahaha.
Seriously though bad luck, 99/100 good packing from the egg.

This really surprises me. The last shipment I received was so well packed with foam peanuts I almost could not find the box for the AMD II 240 I ordered.

Why yes.... yes it was.

lol... puzzle solved :D

and yes, I've never experienced packaging that awful from newegg. I didn't like it when they switched to paper but at least they still used *something* ;)

Newegg is NOTORIOUS for single taping boxes. They do not double or tripple (or quad like some of us anal people) tape the boxes.
When I do orders with newegg theres usually more packing peanuts than product, so most likly, as others have stated, the box opened up mid-ship and your carrier decided it was okay to just throw it back in the box minus the peanuts because by than they were 200x bigger due to sitting in water.

So bummer to hear that.

I will not boycott newegg myself though, I use them religiously for alot of my product minus the off days when ZipZoomFly is cheaper!
