Is this a good deal? I mean I thought only EE had 1MB of L2 cache:

The Prescotts have 1MB of L2 cache because of the long pipeline, it needs that cache so it wont take a performance hit from brand mispredictions.

Thnaks. So you would you recommend Northwood core over Prescott? Also what is the best ABIT MoBo? IC7 MAX II?

I'd recommend Northwood over Prescott still. To accompany it I recommend the Abit IC7-MAX3 motherboard.

actually EE's have 512k of L2 cache, but 2mb of L3 cache

i would recomend a sl6wk 3.0c northwood you can get them from here http://www.pcsupplysource.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId=11921969BE-ACCWARE-WUB50&ic=ZCPU-P4-BN3.0&cc=&tpc= thats the one you want. for 9 bucks more you can select the stepping and packdate. my 3.0c from them does 4.0ghz on a sp94 and 92mm tornado the stepping is sl6wk and packdate is 03/02/04. this is a 30 cap d1 stepping most do 3.7 on stock voltage and usally max out around 3.8-3.9 with good air cooling and 1.70 volts
