Worth getting a H50?

Is it worth getting an H50.
I use a tuniq tower, and have been since 2007..my Quad Core (Q6600 G0) currently runs at 48c idle. No clue how high under load. But not that bad.

But...since I don't plan to build a new PC or anything I am wondering if I should go for an H50 since it might drop the temps down even further (and yes it's overclocked at 3.2ghz)

Or am I doing just fine with a Tuniq (Which then saves me money)

why upgrade? do you want o o/c hihger. 3.2ghz is a nice o/c

i switched from a thermal take hsf to the h50 on one of my machines and i went from 3.2ghz to 3.4ghz on my q9300

I'd say go for it.. might be quieter... might get the "OC itch" later, and gives a brighter view of the future for other "itches"

The H50 should be a good improvement over your Tuniq tower cooler, just make sure you watch the installation video before hand, many people didn't get good mounting on the H50.

The H50 is a cool product and it gets the job done if you're putting your setup in a case. I have mine with dual fans with the air blowing into the case. Corsair says this is the best method. If you do that make sure you have a well ventilated case preferably with a fans in the top sucking the hot air out. If you want to take your H50 to the next level then you can mod it like I did one of mine. With a better rad its even more effective.

48c idle at 3.2ghz? Is it just me or does that seem high? Obviously these and the i7 chips are different, but my i7 @4.2ghz idles are around 41c and 72c at max load with the H50. I'd say go grab one for $50 off someone, I've seen quite a few for sale.

I have a H50 on my i5-750 and it's fantastic. They sometimes have them on sale at Best Buy B&M for $60, that's where I got mine.

Re seat your Tuniq if you haven't already. See if there's any changes in temps, then make the decision if you want to get the H50 or not.

Love my H50, and the ability to transport my case with out fear of a heavy ass heat-sink flopping around.

I just switched from a TT tower to an H50 and dropped 24c off my load temps on an oc'd 1055t. I mounted the TT multiple times to make sure i got a good seating, so installation wasn't botched. It's a really nice system so far.

Anybody heard any buzzing noise from the motor? Silent PC Review had a H70 and they said it was noisy and annoying, and had liquid sloshing noises. I wouldn't mind the liquid sloshing noise personally, I think it makes it cooler. For 90EURs I chose not to risk it and went with a huge 40 Euro heatsink from EKL instead.

I usually go air cooled on my CPU's but the new rig i just built was justs asking for an H50.

you can't hear the motor on the h50 at all, even with your ear next to it. it's as loud as a quiet hdd on idle. The only loud part can be the fans you choose to run it with.

They got a bad unit, if you get one contact corsair and they will replace it. The pump should make 0 noise.

48c idle? That's pretty hot. My q6600 @ 3.2 idles at 28c with my H50. I'd say get one.

yeah, I am still thinking of getting one....it is time. I dont plan to upgrade my CPU anytime at all.

the motor makes no sound at all, and you can only hear water for the first second or two when you turn on your pc and before the case fans / gpu fan kick up.
