Think that is worth 80 bucks? Or just stay with a normal HeatSink and fan.

I'll bet you 10 dollars if you buy a SP-94 plus a nice 92 MM panaflo, you'll have much better cooling than that, and at a cheaper price.

an empty room makes noise?Originally posted by Crapgame
Not disagreeing with you about it's worth, but an empty room typically has a noise level of 30db. That's why recording studios spend so much on sound deadening ceilings/floors/walls.

Currently Undergoing Maintenance!
Due to the enormous response we have had to our services, we are doing some maintenance to make our system faster and more versatile for our users. All FreeWebs sites will work properly during this time, however new accounts and logging in are temporarily suspended.

actually he is right, an empty room is about 30db. db is the measure of the logarithmic ratio between the input and output of a system. In terms of sound it refers to the intensity of sound waves at a given location, whether discernable or not sound waves do exist in an empty otherwise quiet room, your ears just cant hear them. It is also important to note that dB work on a logarithmic scale, 1dB = 10x the intensity. I don't know where you got the 'how far from an object' bit because the decibel system works for many more systems then audible sound ....

Its actually +10dB = 10x the power, however in terms of perception, +10dB is only about double the volume.

I thought I read somewhere that for every 3db increase, the perceived volume is doubled.
So for example, if one fan is 28db, then another fan rated at 31db will "seem" about twice as loud.
don't quote me on it though...but I do remember reading it somewhere in these forums....if only the search worked....![]()

Eh, I'm going to say ripoff. I don't think that thing could cool a CPU much better than a retail HSF, especially not for the price. I'll bet you 10 dollars if you buy a SP-94 plus a nice 92 MM panaflo, you'll have much better cooling than that, and at a cheaper price.
I think any water kit I've seen under $150 has been pretty bad, and for something like that you'd be way better off just getting good air cooling.
Just my two cents![]()

so given that 30dBa is the norm for an empty room, and that a 3dBa increase is twice as loud, then that cooler would almost be twice the noise of an empty room correct?![]()

after hours of fixing it up and setting it up to work it ended up cooling as well as the stock hsf..!!!
we have experience with many watercooling systems but never tested one so horribly designed.
