alright, started on my briefcase mod today. i got the case at the dollar store, thats right, only $1. i picked up 3 of them, so if someone wants one i can sell 2 of them. here is a link to some pictures of the fitting of components and the first cuts.

How's the construction of the case? Pretty solid?

the case is pretty decent, it is aluminum over wood, with a nice soft cloth inside. all the cases have small dents and little scratches on them, but nothing major. if they had more of them i would have bought even more.
 
i just actually finished a briefcase computer, im just troubleshooting right now but stay tuned for a thread in the near future
 
Ive been wanting to do a briefcase computer for a bit now
thought about ripping out that fabric? could be metal under it... sand it down till you can see yourself in it :D or you can lay your own fabric, or just lay out dynamat... I dont think it would take much of it to cover the inside of a briefcase
