Well, being the nooblet i am.. i never even bothered to see if my video card had an s-video out.. it does! and my new TV has an SVideo input..

dun dun dun.. now i have my computer on my TV.. WOOT WOOT

heres the shoot part :(

it looks like ass.. right now i can't even make out what im typing.. But when i play DVD with Power DVD it comes out crisp

When i play Need for Speed Underground, it comes out good.. but not as good as my CRT.. now i know CRTs are gonna look better....

when i play final fantasy online, the text is almost impossible to make out

this TV is 32in cost $267 aftertax with a 10% discount (woot go dad)

also i have to get an s-video to s-video cable.. right now i have svideo to RF (red yellow and white cables) getting the s-video to s-video cable.. would it make a huge diff?

i've tried changing the resolution.. it doesnt help

maybe its just a really shitty TV?

TV's just aren't intended to display text from a computer. You'll notice that the things without text looked ok (lower resolution than computer, but ok)

Yea, TV's arn't made to display text, they are really low resolution.... and use blurring techniques. DVDs look great becuase that's what TV's are made for displaying

When I connected my HTPC onto my 27" via SVIDEO. I just changed the resolution to 800x600 and I am able to make out the text. What resolution are you using right now?

most tvs dont support resolutions like hdtv and when they do it still is not clear. plus the refresh rates are low

virtually all TVS are low res..having said that the "real" HD TVs are high res. i <3 my dad's hdtv :p

make the font really really big or get an hdtv.

on a side note, can anyone tell me what resolution generic non hdtv's run at?
