Wont recognize 2nd drive.

Ok I just got all my parts yesterday. Everything is working great but can not get my mainboard ASrock Z77 extreme 4 to recognize my 2nd hard drive. Recognizes the blu-ray disc drive and the SSD just fine. I have tried different cables and even using the cables connected to the SSD and still not seen in the bios. I cleared the CMOS and still wouldn't recognize it.

Tried changing to IDE mode in the bios and still nothing. Put the hard drive Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB into my old machine, old machine recognized it just fine. Put the drive from my old computer in the new one and still bot seeing the hard drive in the bios.

Thank you all for any help you are able to provide. If I left out any info let me know and I will try and get it posted asap.
 
go to control panel, admin tools, computer managment, storage..If you see the second drive here, right clock on it, and initilize disk, should be good to go..Otherwise double check all your connections, if not, use a different sata connector on the board itself.
 
See if the BIOS is up to date, and make sure you check the SATA power connector. I've had some break and the drive wouldn't show up because it wasn't getting power.

So it is possible that windows is seeing the drive but the bios is missing it completely?
