hey guys how would i go about sharing a 56k connection over a wireless network? i know it sounds stoopid to all you broadbanders but its the only thing i can here where i live. yes i know it will be slow if i use both pc's at the same time but thats not going to happen so i dont need those comments. i have a computer in the garage that needs internet but also need internet in the house, only one pc will used at any given time, but i dont want to have to pay for another line if i dont have to. is this possible?
 
What you need is a proxy server. That will take packets from clients on the wireless side and forward them to the internet.

If the pc's are already on a wireless network together then you don't need any more hardware.

Go to download.com, type in proxy server, and pick one of them. Read the setup directions..it should take very long.
 
Not all programs work with proxys, so I would use Internet Conection Sharing. Its easy to set up and works fine for what you want to do. I have the same setup at home.
