Hi all. I am getting ready to list a few Hard Drives I have for sale. What programs do you guys use to clear out the information? Do certain ones work better? I've got a few IDE and a couple SATA. Thanks

Darik's Boot and Nuke is what I've always used.

Usually I'll do 2 passes of the autonuke which is the short version. Probably could get by with one, but if it is that critical, it certainly wouldn't hurt (well it might degrade the drive ever so slightly but thats besides the point) to do 2 passes.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to download the programs mentioned and give them a shot. Might try them both on different drives and see which I like.

I use DBAN too,but I can't seem to get it to work with SATA drives for some reason.

Thanks for all the replies. I used Dariks Boot and Nuke. Seemed to work good. I did 2 passes with an 80GB IDE older Hard Drive and took about 5 hours. Thanks for all the replies.
