Ok...I'm stumped. I've been working on this problem for a few days.

Friend has a Dell XPS 400, and he recently upgraded his video card to a nVidia 260GTX. His framerates suck in games, and I've found that DirectDraw and AGP acceleration are NOT enabled in DXDIAG....I've reinstalled DirectX, the video drivers, and a fresh install of XP (left file system in tact to avoid losing everything)...and still no luck.

One thing to note - DXDIAG is NOT reporting the memory on the video card (displays as NA)...

ANY info or ideas would be extremely helpful...

Thanks in advance.

First thought would be the update/reinstall chipset drivers.

Here are the errors on DDraw and D3D:

DirectDraw test results: Failure at step 20 (Colorfill to back buffer): HRESULT = 0x887601c2 (error code).

DX7 Test failed at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of Memory)
DX8 Test failed at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of Memory)
DX9 Test failed at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8007000e (Out of Memory)

Here's the DXDIAG info:

First thought would be the update/reinstall chipset drivers.

This and get the most recent video drivers from nvidia's website. (I'm just assuming you're using the drivers off the video card install disk)

If that doesn't work, try the video card in your computer and see if it behaves the same way.

No...I have the most recent WHQL drivers (have tried the betas as well) and the most recent chipset drivers for the board.

I really am at a loss on this one...
