Hi all,
I'm at a loss here on what to do. I just upgraded my S754 Athlon 64 2800+ to a 3400+ model (Venice Core). Dropped the new CPU in, booted it up and it only shows 512MB of RAM (I have a Gig). I removed one of the sticks to see if it was faulty and then it only showed 256. For some reason the machine is only recognizing the 512 sticks at 256. They are both DDR 400 CAS 2.5 sticks although they are different brands. My mobo is a AOpen AK86-L and I'm running XP SP 1. Do I need SP2 for some reason for this chip to work. All I did here was a CPU swap and nothing else. Any help is appreciated.
