Windows upgrade/system change

My old lenovo laptop was running windows xp until it died a few weeks ago. I was planning on upgrading it before it died.

Now I have a Msi barebone system that I'd like to install windows on. Microsoft Academic Alliance provides windows 7, but must have a coa on the system already. Can I use my Lenovo coa since that system is trashed?

Windows xp came with that system when I bought it.
 
I'm not sure on the MAA. I know with OEM license, it's tied to the system that it was installed on (COA).

It's doable and it may work, but it is against the OEM EULA.

I was afraid if that. I guess I should read the Eula before I agree to it :D. Guess I'll just bite the bullet and buy a new key.
