Windows Share problem

ok, I have this odd problem when I'm at my friends place and we try and browse shares on my computer.

There are certain folders on 1 hard drive on my computer that he can't see all of the files or subfolders in when you go through the normal browsing the network in windows explorer, but if you type in the entire path you can get to the folder and copy everything just fine. We both have "simple sharing" but we have also turned off simple sharing and used a username/password and it still happens.

We currently have a 24 port switch and we have a clarkconnect box for our router/firewall his cable modem. We have tried with and without the clarkconnect box and it still happens.

We both have Windows XP SP2 with the same services turned on/off.

Now when I'm at my place with all of my computers with a clarkconnect box everything works just fine.

Any ideas?

it isnt a problem with the share, its a problem with the browser service(no not the internet). Here is a good troubleshooting link.
